1.12.1バージョンで発生した"missing image"(Avatarが灰色や白のままになってしまう)は、1.12.2でも対応済みだが完全ではない。現在(内部)テスト中の次のmajor releaseで完璧版になるはず。

この後に、Second LifeでどうやってAvatarが表示されていくかの記述があり(技術的な詳細はGetting Tecknical: baked Avatar Textures参照)、最後に、この状態になったらどうしたらいいか、注意すべき点などが記述されています。

もしなったら
-- Avatar右クリックでAppearanceウィンドウを出し、何も変更しないままCloseで閉じる
-- outfitを変更してすぐにteleportしない。特に画面上でAvatarが書き換えられている時には。
-- Avatar表示が完了する前にteleportしてしまったら、Clothを変更し、表示完了するまで待つ。完了したらなお10秒程度待つ。
-- debugモード(Ctrl+Alt+D)に入り、Under Client > Character select で "Rebake Textures"を選択する。これが一番確実な方法

6:15pm PDT/SLT(10/12 10:15 JST):バグ修正。Gridに適用終了。

4:05pm PDT/SLT(10/12 08:05 JST):いくつかのregionで発生していたCrash bugについての修正を決定。今後数時間の間、特定regionだけrestartする可能性がある。Grid(全体)を不安定にしないためにもソロソロとすすめているよ(?)。

1:20pm PDT/SLT(10/12 05:20 JST):1.12.2オープン後から、異なるいくつかのregionでCrashが発生したと報告を受けている。現在Crashの再発を監視しており早期の問題特定ができるよう努力中。特定次第修正作業にはいる。そのためにもこの件に関する情報をお寄せください。

現地時間12:00pmだから予定通りupdate作業を終了し、Gridがオープンになったという報告。
新クラアント側downloadからのダウンロード。Second Lifeにアクセスする前にupdateを済ませておくこと。
今回のupdateに関する内容はこちらをチェック。

ただし以下の２点について注意:

• "フォルダ内のアイテムを一括でリネーム"するAppearanceウィンドウ中の「Make outfit」ボタンが削除されている。これは後にもとにもどす予定


• Macユーザーの一部に自動アップデートが動作しないことがある。その場合はDownload pageからの手動updateで対処すること。(経緯についてはこちらを参照)

先週末からずーっと取り組んでいる"Grey goo"対策についてのお知らせ。
Second Life の初期にはできて今は制限されているナニかについて、そのナニかに何か対策を施したらしい。
とりあえずresidentsには、「物(特に再販品)を買ったりする場合には、オリジナル作成者が再販を許可しているのかどうかを確認してくれ」との注意が出された。

"Grey goo"攻撃を沈静化するための追加処置で、正常なものに対しても"rez failure"というエラーメッセージが表示されてしまうらしい。
次のupdateで誤ったメッセージは表示されなくなるらしいが、自分のcontentが本当に正常かどうか確認したい場合は、後刻openにされるBeta Test Gridにて確認してほしいとのこと。

Second Lifeの北大陸を本拠地としたSecond Life Railroad (SLRR)は、すでに３路線が稼動中であり、全部で５３のregionを繋いでいる。過去、５駅についてコンペ形式の駅舎構築をした実績から、今回はさらに多くの駅舎デザインを募集中。
採用デザインにはL$15,000が支給される(らしい)。
